The NS Murph, an exclusive T-shirt for a fearsome WOD
As Memorial Day approaches, here is the NS MURPH a T-shirt created in tribute to Michael Murphy, American soldier who died in combat, and his HERO WOD.
It's a tradition in the United States, one of the most important days for Americans. Every year, on the last weekend of May, Memorial Day is held, a day of tribute to the American soldiers who died in combat.
On this occasion, we present the NS MURPH, an unisex T-shirt that honors the memory of Michael Murphy, a US Navy Special Forces soldier who was killed by the Taliban in Afghanistan on 28 June 2005.
The Functional Training community wanted to pay tribute to Lieutenant Murphy and created a HERO WOD in his honour: the MURPH WOD, based on Michael Murphy's Body Armour workout. It's a tough, dreaded challenge that many athletes try to meet on Memorial Day. But the MURPH WOD is much more than that: it is a duty of remembrance, a symbol of sacrifice, of surpassing oneself and of self-denial.
Wearing the NS MURPH has a real meaning, between duty of memory and transcendence.
